The Neymar Los Angeles tour has been in full force all week and we’ve been on hand for the entire ride. One of our favorite stops was two days ago at Niky’s Sports Santa Monica location where Neymar was presented with a custom Nike kit. The highly limited jersey was designed by our very own John Qudoe Lee who drew from iconic LA graffiti hand styles. Have a look at our recap video and keep it locked for a more in depth photo journal.

Last night Nike’s East LA community store played host to an incredible event centered around one of the world’s best, Neymar. The night kicked off with food, music and the ability to purchase limited Nike Neymar gear. Later on the Brazilian starlet would show up for the unveiling of a massive Neymar mural painted by fellow Brazilian and highly touted street artist, Eduardo Kobra. After the brief presentation Neymar would take part in a few kickabouts with some lucky local kids to finish off the glorious night.

Check out photos from the even below and keep it locked to the site for more exclusive content involving Neymar.

Taking inspiration from Neymar Jr’s playing style and love for music, Nike has linked up the Barcelona artists Ernest Desumbila (director), Flavio Rodríguez (International DJ) and Ba $$ ilones (producers) to create the Mixtape Volume 1 by NJR and to produce an exclusive video clip. The compilation of tracks from around the world was assembled to mimic Neymar’s eclectic personality.

Flavio Rodríguez brought together the talent of up-and-coming young artists from various countries who are provocateurs and remixing different styles of music.  The mixtape features 17 songs by artists such as Yas Weneck, StartRap and DJ Thai from Brazil; Ba$$ilones, Yung Beef, Maikel Delacalle, Bad Gyal, Indigo Jams, Afrojuice and Dellafuente, from Spain; Dark Polo Gang from Italy; Josman from France, Donae’o, Paigey Cakey and Young T & Bugsey from the United Kingdom and They and Swoosh God from the United States.

An accompanying video features the aforementioned artists and Neymar Jr dancing around defenders on a futsal court. Dancers from Tribu Urbana Center School in Badalona also make an appearance.

Back in 2016 Neymar joined forces with Red Bull to put on the world’s biggest five-a-side tournament ever seen. Featuring 10,000 teams with 65,000 players in 47 countries, on 6 continents…the tourney was a massive success. The games were feverishly fast fast-paced thanks to the unique rules which included a 10 minute time limit and the loss of a player each time a team was scored on. This was all inspired by the style of street footy the Barcelona Starlet grew up playing in his native land.

Now onto 2017 where Neymar and Red Bull have announced the 2nd edition of the tournament this time with more regional qualifiers plus a more open player pool. In the USA, the road to the finals travels through 16 qualifiers in 10 states, kicking off March 25 in Tampa, Fla. and Dallas, TX. From there, qualifiers continue on through California, Arizona, Florida, Texas, New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Kansas, Ohio and Colorado. The top two teams from each qualifier then travel to the US finals in Miami in June.

If you’re wondering why the American qualifying process is so rigorous it’s beacause Neymar has long spoken highly of America and even playing footy state side: “Long term, if I could choose any other country to play in it would be the United States. The culture in the US is incredible, and that really attracts me – as do the amazing cities. It would be a great place to play one day.”
