Bowery Football Club is keeping it classic this World Cup. The Manhattan-based group is hosting a pop-up exhibition in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for the duration of the tournament, where you can feast your eyes on beautiful classic kits and watch any of the games on a massive projector screen. Club members Quinn and Carlos were happy to host us for the Switzerland-Serbia game and show us around the former firehouse that they rented out for the four weeks, which comes with a fully stocked bar and a patio out back.

Bowery FC teamed up with their partners Lagunitas Ale and Manchester-based Classic Football Shirts, who so graciously supplied the beer and kits, to bring this football idea to fruition. The attention to detail could not be ignored, as the jerseys were arranged by group order for this year’s edition of the World Cup.

Also on display are some of Bowery’s own apparel, my favorites being their Umbro kits and OnlyNY collabs. I have to say, there’s a unique flavor to BFC’s designs; one can tell just by looking at their custom stickers which ooze New York.

One can only feel right at home at the clubhouse thanks to the hospitality of the club members. I even managed to meet a DJ from London who lives in Dubai but was in town for the weekend, which just goes to show how the World Cup and soccer bring the world together, no matter your country of origin or if their team is in the tournament. Shout out again to Quinn and Carlos for having us, and keep up the good work. Bowery Football Club is a true representative of what New York can bring to the playing field.

You can follow Bowery FC on Instagram and Twitter. Their clubhouse exhibit is open for the duration of the World Cup at 411 Kent Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

A few days ago we saw the official unveiling of midfielder Paul Pogba’s latest limited edition capsule collection with adidas Football in the hear of his home country of France. The Parisian born player has put together an incredibly clean looking release dubbed “adidas Football x Pogba Season III Capsule Collection,” which consists of a range of apparel, a Paul Pogba take on the aidas Predator 18+, and accessories all made for being on and off the pitch. The design approach behind the collection stems from Paul Pogba’s own personality in and out of the field, hence the street-ready looks that we can confidently say we’d like to rock ourselves.

To celebrate the release, the man himself held an event in Paris, amidst the Eiffel Tower, that brought together the City of Light’s youth, Pogba fans and soccer enthusiasts from all over. Guests were able to partake in soccer games played on adidas Football’s digital field complete with LED screens, as well as a workshop that allowed you to create your own tabletop design. The most creatively designed field won the opportunity of playing on the aforementioned digital field with the entire French International team – not bad! Vibes was provided courtesy of comedian, impersonator, DJ, and radio host WILLAXXX who kept the energy going throughout the day.

Check out the photo recap by Dcontract of what went down during the adidas Football x Pogba Season III Capsule Collection release party throughout, then check out the limited edition collection for yourself over at adidas Football France before they run out!

A couple weeks ago in conjunction with adidas, The Base LA was launched with a Tango League event. The gorgeous space features massive murals from Los Angeles artists which was built to host small-sided, indoor/street style matches for LA locals.

The adidas Tango League was created to uncover the next global street soccer icon. Last year’s United States MVP’s went to Cardiff for UCL final to compete on a global scale against the world’s best. This year, the MVP’s are competing for a chance to compete in Russia at the World Cup.

After some skills challenges a cagey 8 team, single elimination tournament kicked off with K-town royalty, DJ Zo providing the music,  while judges consisting of fitness model Tamra Dae, LA Galaxy players Raul Mediola, Daniel Steres and last year’s Tango MVP Pedro Mendoza watched for individual flair. In the end it was Compton’s Street Baller’s that narrowly edged out HB Futsal in the final.  Check out our photo and video recaps below.

Last week we were out in London for the New Balance Football Furon 3.0 and Visaro boot launch. The exciting event took place in East London and we had the opportunity to connect with the players who wear the boots, chat with the product team who created them and put them to the test in a variety of challenges.

The latest version of the Furon is highlighted by their latest innovation in boot design. We caught up with Rob Sheldon, Global Head of Product of New Balance Football, to get insight into the design and development process. Sheldon says. ” We always focus on three major things: Speed, Accuracy and Acceleration.” Having this at the core they work closely with the players for input and gather player data. The result is a lightweight TPU/Polyester engineered mesh upper. “When talking about devastating the defense, we really bring it back to data to design and engineer the product.” Sheldon further adds. The Furon 3.0 encompasses a “Fantom Fit” which is specific fused areas on the boot upper for added durability, structure and overall support around the foot without the need for additional material and stiches. Even the boots foam inserts have been tailored to enhance in-boot traction and cushioning with its REVlite foam insert.

So what do the players have to say? We asked Kevin Mirallas about the new Furon 3.0 model, “Its so different from the 2.0. More comfortable, the material is much different, lighter… A great boot.” Having the boots in our hand and testing on pitch, we can’t deny.

Also showcased at the event was the latest colorway of the New Balance Visaro 2.0 boot. We spoke with Yohan Cabaye who’s wearing the new Energy Lime/Black/Alpha Pink colorway to get his thoughts on this model and the new color. With the boot designed to dictate the play, Cabaye adds, “Details are really important for me. The upper material on the Visaro helps with my pass and shots – and overall control.”

With these two boots, players have an optimal opportunity to tailor their football footwear to their style of play.

Last week a few of our crew traveled to Chicago for MLS All Star. We set out to create two uniquely fresh activations amidst the chaos and that we did. For our second event we teamed up with Nice Kicks, Heineken and Angelus for a gallery space built around our reoccurring  Details feature. We enlisted three customizers @walllychamp15, @dejesuscustomfootwear and @truebluecustoms to create custom Nike Tiempo’s inspired by Sergio Ramos. From the his notorious celebratory matador’s cape, to his tattoos and World Cup, each set of boots brilliantly captured the essence of the Spanish Captain.

The space served as a timeline, from mock up inspiration and inception all the way to final product. @dejesuscustomfootwear was on deck for a live custom job as created some Heineken Tiempo’s. For a full rundown of the entire soiree have a look at the photo recap below.

The concept is simple take, call on 23 influencers from various walks of life, sit them down at a dinner table and open up a dialogue about the beautiful game. First there was Vegas, then Paris and just this past Monday, we hit Chicago for MLS All Star.

In conjunction with Mitchell & Ness, Jason Markk and Heineken, we hosted a dinner graced by the likes of Heath Pearce, Chicago Fire players, representatives, from Nike, Real Madrid, adidas, Instagram as well as several local Chicago influencers from the worlds of music and art. The conversation jumped from the explosion of soccer kits as fashion, to the influence of social media and the blending of cultures all within the beautiful game. Life-long soccer fans/influencers chopped it up with casual fans/newcomers, which created a uniquely fun and intimate dialogue about our beloved game. Check out our photo recap of the space and experience below. Also make sure to keep it locked for a video recap.

They say “the devil is in the details,” and for us when it comes to fresh or rare footy gear we agree. Our up close and personal details feature serves to shed light on uniqueness and quality, it has always been a cornerstone of what we do at KTTP. It was with all this in mind that we decided to head to Chicago for MLS All Star and build an activation steeped in the details of one of the world’s most decorated soccer players, Sergio Ramos.

We asked three customizers to have a look at Sergio Ramos’ life, from the countless trophies to the tattoos and everything in between then go to town on a custom creation with the new Nike Tiempo Legend 7 as the canvas. @truebluecustoms, @dejesuscustomefootwear and @wallychamp were the artists tasked with the aforementioned. The results across the board were stellar, brilliant and uniquely Sergio Ramos.

Each pair of boots will on display at the center of a party in conjunction with Nice Kicks and Angelus on August 1st 12pm-6pm and August 2nd 12pm-4pm at 1858 W Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60622. For more information see flyer below.

Another day, another glorious fan experience from the Niky’s Sports dynasty. This time we take it to their Santa Monica location where adidas Football brought all of their Real Madrid athlete’s for an intimate meet and greet for some lucky Madridistas. The players in attendance included Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Marcelo, Toni Kroos, Keylor Navas, Lucas Vasquez and Nacho Fernandez. Players were split into groups then stationed at two separate photo booths via where fans were able to take pictures and get autographs with their favorite merengues. Throughout the unique experience the Secret Walls crew feverishly put together some brilliant, Real Madrid inspired live art. Each canvas was then signed by every player in attendance. Time was limited but the smiles were endless as every fan was given a golden opportunity with some of the world’s best. Make sure to check out the photos below and keep it locked for video of player interviews.

Last Sunday the good folks over at Niky’s Sports held yet another unique meet and great for their beloved customers. The intimate activation took place at their Bell Garden location where a small group of young soccer players from the area were treated to a one of a kind experience. To start each attendee was given a blank Nike kit with free reign to customize with various Manchester City inspired custom patches that were designed by artist Joesph Lee. The talented painter also created a gorgeous one of one oil painting as well as some limited prints and t-shirts for each of the youth in attendance.  Later on in the day a brief Q and A was held with Manchester City players including Fernadniho, Aro Muric and Daniel Grimshaw followed a raffle was also held where three lucky winners got tickets to the upcoming Manchester City exhibition versus Real Madrid at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Wednesday. The night finished off with autographs, photo ops and some delicious tacos.

Last week, Puma launched the #StepOut initiative in conjunction with the unprecedented third kit launches of every team under their sponsorship umbrella. To honor the occasion two parties were thrown simultaneously, one in Los Angeles and the other in New york.

Similar to L.A., New York’s party uniquely displayed the new third kits for Chivas, Newcastle and Arsenal with brilliant installations. Along with an open bar, food and music, there was live art courtesy of NY graffiti artist, Cesim. The good people at Upper 90 Soccer also provided a one of a kind screen print design for attendees who purchased a kit.
