On the heels of the release of HUMAN.ET, a body of work comprised of 22 pieces of one-off apparel in collaboration with Oakland Roots, Jasko, and I sat down to talk about his upbringing, thoughts on humanity from the perspective of a child refugee, and how important soccer and art were for him in times of peril. A catalyst for the launch of Oakland Roots’ RAR (Roots Artist Residency) program, Jasko’s contribution spans a comprehensive collection of apparel, a zine, and a short film, which highlight a refreshing continuation of Roots’ belief in giving a platform to the arts and supporting the community that uplifts them.
