It has been a tear-filled goodbye tour for one of soccer’s greatest and most iconic stadiums. The Vicente Calderón has seen many things, but above all, it was the home of Atletíco Madrid’s notoriously passionate fans. Over the weekend the last official competitive match was played at the stadium and the only unfortunate thing about the affair was that Atletí was not involved. Thankfully the Copa Del Rey Final was a swan song worthy of the Calderón’s children and it’s aura. Played between the Basque minnows of Alaves and the Catalan giants of Barcelona, the match,  from beginning to end was special. Now when we say beginning we literally mean in the pubs or streets outside of the stadium hours before the match. The crescendo from calm, somewhat desolate to the increasing congregation of fans, beers, songs….the beautiful camaraderie that makes soccer unlike anything else on the planet, sport or otherwise. We were lucky on many levels as we got to see the brilliance of an in-form Messi, the aging beauty that was the Calderón and possibly the greatest fans we’ve ever witnessed in the flesh. Yes, Messi was near perfection as ever and the Blaugrana were in full force, but the undying endeavor of Alaves on the pitch was only paralleled by their beautifully relentless fans. It was as if they had won, not a single one of them left the stadium, instead, they rocked the withering stadium to its boundaries even an hour after the trophy celebration.

Lastly, massive thanks to the good people at Hummel for being such gracious hosts on this amazing trip and experience.

Nike keeps it moving with reworks of classic strips from around the globe. Next up, the FC Barcelona 2017/18 home kit.  The Blaugrana’s latest is an updated take on their classic bold stripes graced with a contemporary touch. The red bands attenuate across a deep blue backdrop offering an entirely unique take on stripe composition. As with most of Barca’s kits, Catalunya receives an homage on the back of the collar which subtly displays the yellow and red stripes of their beloved region’s flag. The words “Força” are engrained on the inner right sleeve, while “Barça” features on the right, an ode to club pride.

Neymar sums up the new kits perfectly… “Pulling on the new Barça kit for the first time creates a mixture of pride and optimism for the season ahead. It looks and feels like a modern uniform of sport.”

The Nike FC Barcelona 2017/18 home kit will be available June 1st at and select retailers.

HERE! HERE! Sound the trumpets, roll out the red carpet, call in sick, kiss a loved one or just do whatever it is you do to celebrate a most glorious occasion. Soccers Messi-ah has received a new boot. All joking aside one of the greatest to ever do it has been given an entirely new silo inspired by his genius.

The adidas Nemeziz takes its design cues from the ritual of taping limbs for increased stability and strength. Every inch of the new boot is built for players who heavily rely on agility. The brilliant tech starts with the unique AGILITYBANDAGE which employs super lightweight TORSIONTAPES technology to keep the foot locked down for an unrivaled fit, while a dual-lock collar secures the ankle in place for explosiveness. The new AGILITYKNIT 2.0 interlocking yarn structure provides a soft direct touch and a lightweight adaptable feel.

“Disruption is a part of my game. A player must attempt to make moves that their opponent isn’t expecting and needs to do so as quickly as possible. To be able to do that, you need complete confidence in your boots and the flexibility to move and adjust easily. The design of these boots is perfect for my game.” – Leo Messi

La Pulga will rock the brand new NEMEZIZ this Saturday at the Copa Del Rey final at the Calderon on May 27th.  You will also be able to see the likes of Lindgard, Firmino and Renato Sanches in the upcoming 2017/18 season.

Sometimes tweaking an iconic strip can be a dodgy undertaking. How do you fix what isn’t broken? Thankfully for Inter Milan, Nike have reworked the blue and black stripes with a modern tinge while paying homage to a timeless look. The kit employs a round neck line with stripes that vary in width and take from Milan’s architecture. The inside of the shirt features the club’s nickname “Nerazurri” it subtly serves as a reminder of tradition and pride. As with seemingly all of Nike’s latest kits, the new Inter strip is made of recycled polyester fabric from plastic bottles which has bee melted down into a fine yarn.

The Nike Inter Milan 2017/18 Home Kit will be available starting today May 25th via and it will be worn for the final game of the season on May 28th.

Inspired by vintage goalkeeper bags and the dopp kits soccer players haul around when traveling to or from a match, The Terrace Club x Aviata Sport Dopp Bag is a versatile piece steeped in footy roots. According to Ben from the Terrace Club the idea was always to blend the two concepts. In wanting to pay homage to goalkeepers TC naturally reached out to makers of fine goalkeeping wear, Aviata Sport. Not only does the dopp stylistically mimic vintage goalkeeper bags, but the inner lining is made of old black and white photos of goalies making iconic saves.

More design concepts stemmed from seeing players over the decades carry their toiletry bags en route to the locker room or bus on game day. The bag was built with that versatility in mind as the entire outer is made of a durable wax canvas which repels water and ages well. Lastly, one thing that the Terrace Club and Aviata Sport are both staunchly proud of is that their dopp bag is made from front to back in the U.S.A.

Has there ever been an MLS club who has made as much noise as LAFC prior to even having an actual team? The Gold and Black have been relentless in their endeavor. From a youth academy to hosting the Mexican National team in Los Angeles to their notoriously loud and ever-growing fanbase, the club has built a rock solid foundation for their upcoming inaugural season. Over the weekend they brazenly flexed the club’s identity through the ‘Black and Gold Rally’.

Set in the heart of Downtown LA’s arts district, hundreds of fans converged for the festivities which included food, drinks music, live art, and chants…tons and tons of chants. The rally also marked the announcement of LAFC’s previously separate supporters groups uniting under the ‘3252’ banner. The moniker derives from the 3,252 standing room only supporters section at the soon-to-be-built Banc of Calfornia Stadium, which LAFC will call home.

Puma’s never been shy about getting brash with their designs. From the now banned sleeveless strips to skin-tight cuts, they’ve maintained a refreshing, sometimes brazen flexibility many brands fear. In keeping with that paradigm Puma brings us the Borussia Dortmund 17/18 home kit. Dropping in that trademark ultra fitted cut the jersey is unsurprisingly dominated by yellow while thick, black horizontal lines offer a unique gradient accent. BVB will rock the kits for the remaining two games of their Bundesliga season as well as the DFB Cup final vs Eintracht on May 27th. For the aforementioned games each player will wear a kit which features an individually written, inspirational message from a fan printed on the inside of their respective jersey.

The Borussia Dortmund 17/18 home kit is available now at

In keeping with their trend for next season, adidas bless us with more retro driven goodness, this time for the mighty FC Bayern Munich. Die Roten’s 2017/18 home kit draws from one of the club’s most iconic strips worn by legends such as Franz Beckenbauer, Uli Hoeness and Gerd Müller during the trophy filled 70’s.

As you’d expect  the kit pays homage to the past but employs a modern fit with the latest tech through breathable fabrics and mesh engineering. The predominantly red jersey is features thin, vertical white stripes with classic three stripes branding on the shoulder. FC Bayern’s motto “Mia San Mia” – roughly translating to “We know where we come from, who we are and what we aim for” – features on the reverse of the kit.

Another added bonus to the launch is a design film in which the adidas Senior Design Director discusses the inspiration behind the kit. It details the innovative fabrics used and the journey from concept to reality. Be sure to check it out below.

The adidas FC Bayern Muich 2017/18 home kit will be seen this weekend on May 20th vs FC Freidburg. It is available now at
